Digital Bridge runs a 41-point version for businesses in the county. A standard audit starts from €380 ex-VAT, delivered in five working days, and the report is yours to keep.

Can I get a free website audit first?
Yes. The free instant website audit at /free-audit runs an automated first pass on speed, titles, headings, indexing and AI-search readiness, and emails you the report. The paid audit on this page is the manual, itemised version with a ranked fix list. Prefer to talk it through? Call 085 224 1848.
- Free instant audit: /free-audit — automated, no call required
- Paid manual audit: 41 checks by hand, ranked fix list, walkthrough call
Key takeaways
The short version, for readers and answer engines:
- The audit covers 41 checks across eight areas: indexing, Core Web Vitals, titles and descriptions, headings and answers, schema, trust signals, internal links and AI-search readiness.
- A standard audit starts from €380 ex-VAT — our hourly rate, starting from €95, against a four-hour minimum — with larger sites quoted before work starts.
- Delivery is five working days and ends with a 30-minute walkthrough call, included in the price.
- Every item in the fix list is priced separately, so the free fixes stay free and only the rest is quoted.
- We run the same 41 checks on our own pages: one scored 73/100 in September 2026 with a 6.38-second Largest Contentful Paint, and that failure is being fixed in public.
- Ongoing search work afterwards is optional: setup from €995, then monthly plans from €650, from €1,150 or from €2,400.
What does the 41-point audit actually check?
Eight areas, 41 individual checks, each scored pass, warn or fail. The same list is applied to every site, whether it is a solicitor in Naas, a stud farm outside Kilcullen or an online shop trading from Leixlip. The value is not the list itself — the value is a person reading the results and saying which three items are costing enquiries this month.
The eight areas, in the order we work through them: access and indexing (can search engines and AI crawlers reach every page, and is the canonical correct); Core Web Vitals (how fast the largest element paints on a mid-range phone); titles and descriptions (length, keyword position, a reason to click); and headings and answers (one H1, question-style H2s, a direct answer under each).
Then structured data (Article, Service, FAQ, HowTo, BreadcrumbList, Organization and WebSite, all validated); trust signals (named author, dates, reviewer, About and Contact linked); internal linking (which pages point where, and which are orphans); and AI-search readiness (llms.txt, markdown mirrors, quotable sentences with a figure in them).
We publish the scoring because it keeps us honest. In September 2026 we ran the list against one of our own county pages. It scored 73 out of 100. Largest Contentful Paint was 6.38 seconds against a 2.5-second target. First Contentful Paint was 4.73 seconds against 1.8. Keyword density was 2.88 percent, above the 2.5 percent ceiling. Those are our figures, measured on our site, and they are the kind of specific, uncomfortable result a useful audit produces.

- A 41-point checklist applied by hand, not a PDF exported from a crawler
- Core Web Vitals measured from real mobile loads: LCP, INP and CLS, with the element causing each named
- Every page's title, description and H1 checked for length, keyword position and duplication across the site
- Cannibalisation map: which of your pages compete for the same search, and which one should win
- Schema validated line by line — Article, Service, FAQPage, HowTo, BreadcrumbList, Organization and WebSite
- AI-search readiness: whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot can crawl, and whether llms.txt and markdown mirrors exist
- A ranked fix list with the likely gain, the effort in hours and a price beside each item
- A 30-minute walkthrough call, and a report you keep whoever does the fixes
How much does a website SEO audit cost in the county?
A standard audit starts from €380 ex-VAT. That is our hourly rate, starting from €95, against a four-hour minimum block, which covers a site of up to roughly 50 pages. Larger sites, online shops with hundreds of products, or multi-language sites are quoted before work starts and the quote is written down.
The price includes the crawl, the manual review, the ranked fix list and the walkthrough call. It does not include the fixes themselves — each is priced as a separate line so nothing is bundled into the audit that you did not ask for.
For comparison, the free automated scan we offer covers roughly a third of the checklist and produces a list of symptoms with no ranking. It is a fair starting point. It is not an audit.
What did our own audit find, and what are we doing about it?
In our experience the most useful audit example is one we cannot hide on a fixed quote, so here is ours. In September 2026 we scored one of our own county service pages against the full checklist. It came back at 73 out of 100. The failures were specific. Largest Contentful Paint measured 6.38 seconds. First Contentful Paint measured 4.73 seconds. Lighthouse mobile performance scored 66.
The page had no table of contents, no comparison table, no visible published date and no author bio. Two images carried alt text on only one of them.
Every one of those items is now on our own fix list, priced in hours exactly as it would be for a client. The content and markup items were fixed in a day. The speed items are harder: they depend on how the site is served rather than what is written on the page, and we have not yet cleared them. We say so on the page rather than pretending the audit was clean. That is what a report from us looks like.
What is the difference between an audit and a free scan?
A free scan is a machine listing symptoms. An audit is a person deciding which symptoms matter. A crawler will report 200 warnings on an ordinary 40-page site and rank none of them. Perhaps five of the 200 are costing enquiries. The audit's job is to find those five, explain why, and put a price and an hour figure beside each.
The free scan covers the technical basics — status codes, missing titles, broken links, a rough speed reading. It cannot map which of your pages compete for the same search, cannot judge whether a heading answers its question, and cannot tell whether an AI assistant would quote your page or a competitor's. Those are the checks that move results, and they need a reader.
Which mistakes come up most often on sites in the commuter belt?
The same five, repeatedly, across Naas, Newbridge, Maynooth and Celbridge. First, several pages competing for the same search — a services page, a blog post and a location page all targeting one phrase, so none ranks. Second, a home page whose largest image is 1.5 megabytes and loads last, so Largest Contentful Paint runs past five seconds on a phone. Third, titles that are the business name and nothing else.
Fourth, no dates, no author and no reviewer anywhere, which matters for anything money-adjacent. Fifth, a robots file that blocks every AI crawler by default because the template shipped that way.
None of these is exotic. All of them are cheap to fix once identified, and all of them are invisible from the site owner's own browser, which is exactly why they persist.
How long does the audit take and what happens in each of the five days?
Five working days from access to walkthrough. Day one is access and crawl: Search Console, analytics and a full crawl of every URL. Day two is measurement: Core Web Vitals from real mobile loads, indexing status page by page, canonical and hreflang checks.
Day three is reading: every title, description, H1 and opening paragraph, and the cannibalisation map. Day four is markup and trust: schema validated, author and date signals, About, Contact and Privacy links, AI crawler access, llms.txt and markdown mirrors. Day five is ranking: the fix list ordered by gain divided by effort, priced, and walked through on a 30-minute call.
How does the audit check AI-search readiness?
By checking the things AI assistants actually read. Whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Googlebot are allowed in robots.txt. Whether the page's main text is present in the raw HTML or only appears after JavaScript runs.
Whether an llms.txt file exists at the root and lists the key pages. Whether each key page has a clean markdown mirror. Whether the opening paragraph is a 25-to-90-word definition an assistant can lift verbatim. Whether each H2 section opens with a self-contained answer of 40 to 80 words. Whether there are short sentences carrying a figure.
We hold our own site to this. Digital Bridge serves prerendered HTML for every public route, publishes llms.txt and llms-full.txt, serves a.md mirror of every key page, and tracks AI crawler visits in its own admin dashboard. Those are the checks, and they are the same ones applied to your site.
How the audit runs, step by step
Every audit follows the same eight steps in the same order, so two audits of the same site a year apart are directly comparable.
- Access — read-only access to Search Console and analytics is granted, and the audit scope is confirmed in writing with the page count and the price.
- Crawl — every URL is crawled and the status code, canonical, indexability and robots directives are recorded for each.
- Measure — Core Web Vitals are taken from real mobile loads: Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift, with the responsible element named.
- Read — every title, description, H1 and opening paragraph is read by a person, and pages competing for the same search are mapped.
- Validate — every JSON-LD block is checked for required fields, and missing types the content earns (FAQPage, HowTo, Article, Service) are noted.
- Trust — author, dates, reviewer line, About, Contact and Privacy links, and AI crawler access are checked page by page.
- Rank — every finding is scored by likely gain against effort in hours, then priced as a separate line.
- Walk through — a 30-minute call explains the top items in plain language, and the report is handed over in full.
A checklist you can run yourself before paying anyone
These eight checks take about 20 minutes and cost nothing. If they all pass, an audit will still find more, but you will have removed the cheapest failures first.
- Search your business name in Google: does the right page appear first, and is the title something other than your domain?
- Open robots.txt on your domain: is there a line reading Disallow: / with no path after it?
- Run the home page through PageSpeed Insights on mobile: is Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds?
- View the page source and search for your main heading: does it appear in the raw HTML?
- Count the H1 tags on your home page: is there exactly one?
- Check the footer: are About, Contact and Privacy all linked and all working?
- Open your most important service page: is there a visible date and a named author?
- Search a service you offer plus your town: does any page of yours appear in the first 20 results?
What does an audit cost against the alternatives?
Three realistic routes, with what each actually buys. None is wrong; they suit different sites and budgets.
- Free automated scan — no cost, roughly a third of the checklist, a symptom list with no ranking. Suits a new site checking nothing is badly broken.
- Standard manual audit — from €380 ex-VAT, the full 41 checks, a ranked and priced fix list, a walkthrough call. Suits an established site that has plateaued.
- Ongoing search work — setup from €995, then from €650, from €1,150 or from €2,400 a month, which includes a monthly audit pass and the fixes implemented. Suits a business where search is the main enquiry channel.
- Ad-hoc fixes without an audit — from €95 an hour, four-hour minimum. Suits a site with one known problem and no need for a full review.
Which examples of our own work can you check?
Digital Bridge builds and maintains the websites behind Verdé Environmental Group, Printhouse.ie, Pro Horse Jumps, GymSafe, Danu Lodge, Riversdale House Getaway and Radiant Heating & Plumbing. Every one of those sites is live and can be opened, crawled and measured by anyone.
We do not publish ranking positions or traffic figures for client sites, and we would treat any agency that does with caution. What we will show, before you commit, is a real audit report with the client's name removed, so you can judge the writing and the ranking for yourself.
What an audit will not do
It will not promise a position, a traffic figure or a date for page one. It will not fix anything by itself — the report has to be acted on. And it will not flatter the site. Our own page scored 73 and the report said so. If you want a document that confirms the site is fine, this is the wrong service; if you want to know which three things to fix first and what each will cost, it is the right one.

How much does a website SEO audit cost for a business in the county?
A standard audit starts from €380 ex-VAT, which is our hourly rate, starting from €95, against a four-hour minimum and covers a site of up to roughly 50 pages. Larger or multi-language sites are quoted in writing before work starts. The price includes the crawl, the manual review, the ranked fix list and a 30-minute walkthrough call.
How long does the audit take?
Five working days from access to walkthrough. Day one is access and crawl, day two is measurement, day three is reading and the cannibalisation map, day four is markup and trust signals, and day five is ranking, pricing and the call.
What is the difference between your free scan and the paid audit?
The free scan is automated and covers about 14 of the 41 checks, producing a symptom list with no ranking. The paid audit is manual, covers all 41, maps pages competing for the same search, validates schema field by field, checks AI-search readiness and ends with a ranked, priced fix list.
Do I have to use Digital Bridge for the fixes?
No. The report is yours in full whether or not we do any further work. Every fix is priced as a separate line, so you can do the free items yourself, hand some to your existing developer and give us only what you choose.
Do you audit online shops and larger sites?
Yes. Sites above roughly 50 pages, shops with large product catalogues and multi-language sites are quoted before work starts. The checklist is the same; the crawl and the reading simply take longer, and the quote reflects that in hours.
Does the audit cover AI search as well as Google?
Yes. The AI-search section checks whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot are allowed, whether the main text exists in the raw HTML, whether llms.txt and markdown mirrors are published, and whether the page opens with a definition and short, quotable sentences that carry a figure.
Will you promise a ranking?
No. Nobody honest can. The audit identifies what is holding a site back and prices each fix; results depend on the competition for each search and on the fixes being made. Our own pages carry published audit scores, including a 73 out of 100 from September 2026, for exactly that reason.
Do you come out to Naas, Maynooth or Athy for the walkthrough?
The walkthrough is a 30-minute video call by default, because everything discussed is on screen. If you would rather meet in person anywhere in the county, that can be arranged and is priced at the hourly rate including travel time.
How does a website SEO audit work for a business in Kildare?
Kildare functions as dublin's commuter belt along the m7 and m4 corridors, so a resident may live in naas or newbridge and shop, search and compare suppliers as if they were still in the capital. That mix matters for a website SEO audit, because most sites we audit have not been touched since launch, so the first job is simply finding out what has changed since then. For a kildare business, the starting point is a Kildare buyer's own behaviour: what they search for and how far they will travel before choosing someone else. We build a prioritised, plain-language list of what to fix this week, this month and this quarter, ranked by impact rather than by how technical it sounds, set up around how Kildare customers behave rather than a generic template. That means starting with the real service area — Naas, Newbridge, Athy and Leixlip — rather than one style for the whole county. The work is scoped after a short conversation about what is already in place, so nothing already working locally is replaced for its own sake.
What makes Kildare different when it comes to a website seo audit?
The county's equine industry around the curragh and the intel plant in leixlip sit alongside ordinary retail and trade businesses in naas, newbridge and athy. That has a direct effect on a website SEO audit: most sites we audit have not been touched since launch, so the first job is simply finding out what has changed since then. The work for a Kildare client looks different from the same service delivered elsewhere in the country — the towns named and the competitors measured against are specific to Kildare, not lifted from a national template. We do not run one fixed package across every county page; the brief for kildare starts with what is actually true here, including places like Naas, Newbridge, Athy and Leixlip, and is adjusted once we can see the business's own enquiry pattern. Reporting stays plain: what changed, over what period, against the baseline agreed before work started.
Our Leixlip business ranks fine for 'Leixlip' but nothing for 'Kildare' searches — why?
This usually comes down to how narrowly a website and Google Business Profile have been set up, if every mention of location on your site says only Leixlip, search engines have little reason to show you for broader county-level searches even if you’re happy to serve customers from further afield. Our audit checks how your location signals are structured across your website, service area settings and business listings, and identifies where you’re missing opportunities to appear for nearby searches like Celbridge, Maynooth or wider Kildare terms. We also check technical basics, page speed, mobile usability and whether your content actually answers what people search for, since these affect ranking regardless of location wording. Leixlip’s dense working population near major employers means there’s real search volume being missed if your visibility stops at the town boundary. You’ll get a written report ranking issues by priority, so you know exactly what to fix first to widen your reach.
We redesigned our site last year and enquiries from Celbridge and Kilcock dropped off — can an audit tell us why?
A redesign can quietly break things that were previously working well, page URLs changing without proper redirects, service area pages being merged or removed, or site speed getting worse due to heavier images and design elements, and any of these can cause a genuine drop in enquiries from specific areas like Celbridge or Kilcock. Our audit checks whether old pages redirect correctly, whether your Google Business Profile still matches your current website structure, and whether technical performance has changed since the redesign. We also compare your current content against what previously existed, since sometimes a redesign focuses on visual appeal but loses location-specific detail that was actually driving those enquiries. This is common when a template redesign replaces individually written area pages with one generic services page. You’ll receive a clear written report identifying exactly what changed and what needs restoring or rebuilding to recover the enquiries you’ve lost.
What should a Kildare business expect to get out of a website SEO audit?
An SEO audit for a Kildare business gives you a clear, evidence-based picture of why your site is or is not being found online, rather than a guess. We start with the technical side — checking site speed, mobile usability and whether search engines can properly crawl and index your pages, since a slow or poorly structured site holds back even well-written content. We then review your on-page content to see whether it genuinely reflects the searches people in Naas, Newbridge, Celbridge and towns along the M7 and rail corridor are actually typing in, rather than generic industry language that ranks for nothing specific. We also check your Google Business Profile and local citation consistency, which matters a great deal in a county where several towns compete for the same regional searches. The audit finishes with a plain-English, prioritised breakdown of issues and opportunities, so you know exactly what is worth fixing first. It is designed to be a practical starting point, whether you act on it yourself or move into our ongoing SEO service from €650 a month.
Is an SEO audit worth it for a smaller business in a Kildare town rather than a national brand?
Yes, arguably more so. National brands can often absorb weak search visibility because they have brand recognition doing some of the work for them. A smaller business based in a Kildare town like Athy, Monasterevin or Kildare town itself relies far more heavily on being found for specific, local searches — someone nearby typing a service plus their town name into Google. An audit shows you precisely where that connection is breaking down: whether it is a technical issue stopping your pages from ranking, content that does not mention the areas you actually serve, or inconsistent business listings confusing search engines about where you are based. Because Kildare has so many towns within a short drive of each other along the M7, competition for these local searches is genuine, and small gaps matter. The audit gives you a realistic, prioritised view of what is achievable rather than vague promises, and it works as a standalone check-up or as the starting point for ongoing work through our SEO service from €650 a month.
How we decide what to quote for Kildare
Digital Bridge delivers this work from Gorey Business Park in County Wexford on a fixed written scope — one price, one delivery date — and the client owns the finished work outright. A website SEO audit is a manual, itemised inspection of how a site is crawled, indexed, loaded, understood and cited, ending in a ranked fix list with the gain and the effort beside each item. Before a figure is given, four questions are answered in order, and a named person signs the scope off — it is never generated automatically.
- Is this the right job at all? We look at what you already have online, whether the domain and Google Business Profile are in your own name, and what Kildare customers currently ask you for. If a repair or a single page would solve it, we quote that instead.
- What does the work have to achieve first? The scope is written around one outcome — enquiries, bookings, orders or credibility — and anything else is listed as optional so it can be dropped without renegotiating.
- What will it cost and when will it be live? Page count, content readiness, integrations and whether photography or copy still has to be produced set the price and the date, both fixed in writing before work starts.
- How will people in Kildare find it afterwards? Local search setup is included in a build; ongoing SEO is a separate optional retainer you can start or stop with notice.
