What the Grow Digital Voucher covers

The scheme supports digitalisation identified through a completed Digital for Business project. Officially eligible expenditure includes:

  • New off-the-shelf software subscriptions for up to one year
  • CRM, workflow, stock control, accounting, payroll and e-invoicing software
  • Analytics and AI software that is new to the business
  • Online booking, payment, appointment and e-commerce software
  • IT configuration and training related to the new system, together capped at 50% of total project cost

Who qualifies

You qualify if you tick all of the following:

  • A registered enterprise with between 1 and 50 paid employees
  • Trading for at least 6 months
  • Current Revenue tax clearance and evidence the business is solvent
  • Not currently a client of Enterprise Ireland or IDA Ireland
  • A Digital for Business project completed within the previous two years
  • Annual turnover or balance-sheet total of a fixed quote million or less under the small-enterprise definition

How much you get and how it works

Grant aid is 50% of eligible costs, with a minimum grant of a fixed quote and a maximum of a fixed quote per application. An enterprise may receive at most two Grow Digital projects, subject to a cumulative grant ceiling of a fixed quote and demonstrated progress against its Digital for Business report.

How to apply (the actual steps)

Applications must be discussed with the Local Enterprise Office serving the area where the business operates:

  • 1. Contact your Local Enterprise Office (LEO) — there's one in every county
  • 2. Complete a Digital for Business project and receive the report
  • 3. Discuss the new software and eligible configuration or training identified in that report
  • 4. Submit the required application and supporting documents to the LEO
  • 5. Do not incur expenditure before the LEO receives the application
  • 6. Proceed only after the LEO confirms the applicable process and approval

Is the Grow Digital Voucher the same as the Trading Online Voucher?

No. Grow Digital is a separate digitalisation support focused on new business software, with eligible configuration and training. Do not assume the older Trading Online Voucher rules apply.

Can I use it for a bespoke website, SEO or advertising?

No. The official guidance excludes bespoke website development and custom software. SEO, advertising and general digital marketing services are not listed as eligible software expenditure. Website-related support applies only where eligible website software is a new subscription for the business.

How long does approval take?

Processing varies by Local Enterprise Office. Ask your LEO for its current timeline and do not incur expenditure before the application is received, because retrospective costs are ineligible.

Does using Digital Bridge guarantee grant approval?

No. Only the relevant Local Enterprise Office can determine applicant and expenditure eligibility. Digital Bridge can scope configuration or integration work, but no provider can guarantee approval.

What if I've already used a Trading Online Voucher?

Previous support does not automatically establish Grow Digital eligibility. Your LEO will assess your current application, Digital for Business report and cumulative Grow Digital grant position.
