Wix is fast to start, forgiving to edit and cheap in month one. For a sole trader who needs a presence this week and will maintain it personally, it is a reasonable choice and we have no interest in pretending otherwise. The editor is genuinely easier than any content management system we would hand over.

Wix sites tend to carry more front-end weight than a hand-built equivalent, which shows up on mobile connections outside the cities. Technical SEO control is better than it once was but still bounded by the platform. And migration is the sticking point: you cannot export a Wix site to another host, so leaving means rebuilding.
